Katy McEwan, Teesside University

image001Katy is currently a full-time Scholarship PhD Student and Associate Lecturer at Teesside University. She entered Higher Education through an Access to HE course, going on to obtain a BA (Hons) Sociology & Social Policy at Durham and then an MSc Youth & Community at Teesside. She has a background in youth work practice and development and public sector administration; her research interests reflect this, focusing on youth transitions, precarity, and class. Katy is a fierce advocate of public sociology and promotes accessible and engaging sociological projects. She joined the BSA Postgraduate Forum as a Co-Convenor in 2015
